I really enjoyed the ancient-style building and my updated room with character. Its location was indeed peaceful and only 5 minutes walk from Thaxted Town. And the area was very very nice, just off the pub and the airport.

It was in a central setting in these' Green King' chain restaurants. Comforts of recently decorated and new-fashioned room with a large bathroom were fabulous.

The Swan is in the perfect position opposite the church. The breakfast was good, my partner had a very nice steak for dinner in the evening.

I could see the hotel was short of staff, so this is probably a bit unfair, but it took a while to get some coffee at breakfast.

The room was super clean and the bathroom was nice. We had dinner one night and it was no complaints from us! Brekfast was a win too! Loved the atmosphere and was quiet at night, perfect for us.

The couch bed made the room a bit tight for us 3. A little more attention to detail in the cleaning would be good.

exactly on the flypath of incoming aircraft at stansted, luckily on the landing side (not too noisy) instead of take off (which would have been unbearable!)

We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the delicious breakfast cooked to order. The cozy bar area was a nice spot to wind down. It's great to relax with both a lovely garden and a cute lounge available . The only small hiccup was some noise from outside, but it's totally part of the vibe! 😊

Very noisy location on main road and aircraft noise. Room overheated, no air conditioning or fan.

In fact, the front door unfortunately always closed very loudly. But only refers to rooms 17 to 19 in the neighboring building.

The breakfast was excellent, a pleasant surprise after an adequate dinner. The staff were helpful and the location was convenient for exploring the area. The room was fine for our one-night stay.

We booked a superior room at a reduced rate and it was very nice. Had a nice meal in the bar with my family, live music playing and not too loud. The telephone didn't work in the room, but it was no trouble to make a call at reception. Staff made us feel very welcome.
